Why LED lamps are better?
- LED bulbs last up to 10 times longer than compact fluorescent, and more as the typical incandescents.
- Given the LEDs have no filament, they are not damaged in the event that a normal incandescent bulb would be broken. Because they are solid, LED bulbs hold up well to jarring and blows.
- These bulbs do not cause heat buildup, LEDs produce 3.4 BTU / hour, compared to 85 for bulbs incandescent. It also reduces air conditioning costs in the home.
- No mercury is used in the manufacture of LEDs.

- Due to the low power requirement for LEDs, using solar panels becomes more practical and less costly than the implementation power lines or use a generator for lighting.
